Treasurer Search Newsletter April 2018
At the moment, stock exchanges are receiving plenty of attention: IPOs are scheduled (CEVA), postponed (Leaseplan) or even cancelled (Varo and Akzo). When Trump tweets, the stock markets drop. At the same time, supermarkets that are looking to increase their market share are extending their working capital by delaying payments to suppliers. And, as recruiters, we are constantly looking for treasury controllers and other specialists.

Buy now, pay sooner - dynamic dyscounting
Door Lionel Pavey
We live in a time of very low interest rates which translates to lower funding costs. However, at the same time, obtaining credit is becoming more difficult as banks are reluctant to lend in the ways that they did years ago. Credit is still available via other avenues – look at P2P lending for example. When all else fails, it is necessary to look at one’s own internal supply chain to see how financing can be facilitated. In this article on TreasuryXL I report on the practice of dynamic discounting.
