November is the month of the year that I will meet many of you at the DACT event in Noordwijk and when I, together with my colleagues, celebrate another company birthday. Time to look back and also forward.

2017 is the year in which our company reached the next maturity level. We strengthened the backbone of the company, all important tasks can be handled by at least two of us. Mine is clipped from the company name, the words “treasury” and “Kiewit” in one name is simply too much. We have a stable team and if the right person comes along we will continue our growth. Heleen and I handle projects from A to Z. Monique, with the help of Bianca, takes care all processes run smoothly. Guusje manages a constant marketing communication flow through various channels. When it gets too treasury technical, Lionel is available to step in.

We passed the 100 placements mark quite some time ago and have almost 10,000 candidates in file. The core group we hope to be interesting for and focus on, consists of 2,500. We found staff for clients in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and the USA. The number of nationalities of candidates placed is even bigger. The increase in growth in placements has continued in 2017 and I am very happy to report that especially the number of interim managers placed by us has increased. We started bridging the gap between the specialized treasury consultancy firms and the bulk finance recruiters, combining quality, speed and fair pricing.

Predicting the 2018 market situation is not so easy, there are too many variables. There was a lot of talk about the effects of Brexit, this would lead to many new positions. So far this has not happened. Most likely the effects of the so-called Panama and Paradise Papers will not be positive for the treasury labour market. I do notice a growing appreciation for treasury expertise in organizations that do not employ specialists. I hope and expect positive developments, being an optimist and entrepreneur.

As to our own organization, we will continue working on better matches, preferably in an increasing number of countries. We will invest in education, in a specific assessment infrastructure and in bringing relevant expertise to our candidates and clients. We will have to also work on the new GDPR (AVG) regulations that has a strong impact on our relation driven organization. Team Treasurer Search looks forward to our continued cooperation.
