Our network: more than just an address book
Last week my colleague shared a blog I found very intriguing. It was a blog by Seth Godin raising the question “If you stole Steven Spielberg’s address book, would it help you get a movie made?”. He thereby stated that even if you had the phone numbers and names of the relevant experts, calling them and, with or without saying you’d stolen them, would not have value. As the contact data has no value without trust and connection.
In this day and age it’s very easy to find email addresses, phone numbers or other ways of contact such as LinkedIn profiles. But if you go and contact people without sharing anything what can be of value to them, they will just as easily hang up the phone or ignore your email. Adding value to your message is a very important part to be successful in your communication, and this is something we at Treasurer Search try to do every day.
We don’t just go ahead and contact everyone just because we can, we contact you because we are convinced we can offer what other (generalist) recruiters can’t. Our way of adding value is by using our treasury and recruitment knowledge to help candidates make the next step in their career and clients to find good candidates for their treasury vacancies. Treasury being such a niche, we were able to build an up-to-date network of candidates and clients, and invest a lot in the maintenance. By doing this we can continue making good quality matches, now and in the future.
We are happy to hear from both candidates and clients that they like how we communicate. We think this is especially important during this unprecedented time in which a lot of companies decided to freeze their hiring processes to wait and see how the situation would develop. Luckily, as Pieter mentioned in the introduction of the newsletter, we see an increase of vacancies, and are happy to connect with you if you are looking for a new challenge or seek assistance in the recruitment of a treasury team member.
