In March we all went home and closed the doors of our office. The Treasurer Search infrastructure is home-office-proof and we continued our operations, including two virtual team meetings per day. By phone and video conference we were able to have good meetings. Nevertheless we miss having personal meetings and are happy we could build upon the thousands of face-to-face contacts we had pre-covid-19.

Recently we started going to the office on a part-time basis, coming together in sub-teams tackling team topics. Traveling to clients is still an exception. There is still fear about a second wave of contamination and we all experienced that you can achieve a lot without being face-to-face. Many of us enjoy working at home, most definitely not all of us.

At the end of last year I decided to search for a new office solution in Amsterdam, a search I put on hold for obvious reason. Mid-February I decided that it was a great plan to invest in a new office for our organisation in our home town Venlo. Brilliant or the stupidest thing I could have done? Time will tell. The last and next few months we are preparing going to a splendid new place where we will be proud host of many meetings. We invest in an infrastructure where we can shake your hand.

We as a team are making our minds up about personal meetings. They are enjoyable, bring most information and are the foundation for a good relation. But also perhaps they do not contribute enough to better recruitment decisions, they can be a waste of time and bring delay in processes. They cost more money, enable covid-19 and other contaminations… All these statements are true.

We will make our decisions about how to move forward in this, but do value learning about your opinion. It would help us greatly if you would complete the below, anonymous and very brief survey. In our next newsletter we will inform you about the results and our decision.
